PODCAST: A trip down memory lane in celebration of three classic releases
I'm playing catch up a little bit on thenewbeatmaker.com as I've been lucky enough to be spending a lot of time over at influencedpodcast.co.uk.
If you didn't catch it before, here's another chance to hear me and Mark Anthony (Lyrical Strangers, Shoreditch Radio) sit (virtually) with our good friend Mark Williams. This episode was recorded on Fathers Day (UK) this year.
The topic is classic hip hop albums and the trio's personal connections to them, leading the team on a trip down memory lane.
At the last minute I decided to avoid discussing the more poignant, personal connection I have to J Dilla's 'Donuts'. As such I 'freestyled' my segment of the show and instead focused on the influences within the project and it's impact on beatmaking and beat-tape culture.
